International Review of Bipolar Disorders
(www.irbd.org) and the European Bipolar Forum
The world’s biggest international annual conference on Bipolar Disorders.  The 12th event was in Nice in May 2012.  The 2013 conference is in Seville from 18 - 20 March.  The European Bipolar Forum (EBF), chaired by Prof Jules Angst, is the parent society for the International Review of Bipolar Disorders. The EBF is a non-profit organisation dedicated to helping practitioners keep up-to-date on current thinking and treatments and management strategies.

The World Association of Neurotechnology (www.waneurotech.org)
WANeurotech is a biennial event which focuses on innovations and developments in the study of neurotechnology.  The parent association of the same name is non-profit making and committed to the development of a forum for researchers, clinicians and industry to allow sharing of knowledge and cross-fertilization of ideas for the betterment of all involved.


               
Winter Workshop on Psychosis (www.wwpsych.org) and the Winter Workshop Fund
Now in its 30th year the Winter Workshop in Psychoses focuses on cutting edge research and clinical developments mainly in schizophrenia and bipolar disorders.  It also explores the different views and interpretations of the concept of psychosis.  The 17th conference in Marrakech is from 12 - 14 February 2013.


           
Global Addiction (www.globaladdiction.org) and the Global Addiction Network
Global Addiction is a conference which offers sessions on all addictions enabling attendees to share best practice and improve knowledge.  The next conference will be hosted in Pisa, Italy in May 2013.  The Global Addiction Network is the parent association which ensures the message is communicated all year round.


           
Burning Issues in Psychiatry (www.bipsych.org)
Burning Issues in Psychiatry is a biennial conference focused on psychiatry and located in the Middle East. The inaugural event took place in Lebanon and highlighted developments in opinion and treatment of the Bipolar Spectrum.  The next conference is scheduled for 2013 and will focus on Relationships in Psychiatry. The associated society, also Burning Issues in Psychiatry, drives the objective of the conference all year round encouraging the sharing of information and knowledge.


              
On-line Learning
New for 2012, Cortex is pleased to announce the introduction of the On-Line Learning service.  Practitioners world-wide can now access sessions from conferences past and present, and view them at a time convenient for them.  The programmes will be rolled out on a conference by conference basis across 2012.  Future conference will all be recorded with plenaries also available on video.  Attending delegates will be able to access this service exclusively for 3 months after the conference as part of their delegate registration.  Other individuals can either join a full access membership scheme to access all sessions or pay on a session by session basis.  All on-line sessions will earn CME points.

IRBD 2013 has been awarded 21 CME accreditation points by the European Bipolar Forum.

Delegates should only award themselves 1 CME accreditation point per 1 hour spent at the conference.
